The New York Yankees and San Diego Padres discussed a possible Joey Gallo trade during spring training, according to a report.

Gallo struggled in his half-season with the Yankees in 2021 and was mentioned in rumors during the offseason.

The Padres also looked into acquiring Gallo last summer.

The Chicago White Sox had interest in acquiring Sean Manaea and Frankie Montas from the Oakland Athletics.

Manaea has since been traded to the San Diego Padres, but the White Sox are still looking at Montas.

However, the A's want Andrew Vaughn back in a deal with the White Sox, a price Chicago has to this point balked at.

The Minnesota Twins are working on a trade with the San Diego Padres involving Chris Paddack, according to a report.

Paddack, 26, has struggled since a very strong rookie campaign in 2019 that saw him post a 3.33 ERA over 26 starts.

The Milwaukee Brewers have completed a pair of trades to shore up the catcher position.

The Brewers acquired Victor Caratini from the San Diego Padres in exchange for minor league outfielder Korry Howell and catcher Brett Sullivan.

Milwaukee also added Alex Jackson from the Miami Marlins for minor league infielder Hayden Cantrelle and pitcher Alexis Ramirez.

The moves came a day after Pedro Severino was suspended for the first 80 games following a positive drug test.

The Miami Marlins have beefed up their bullpen by acquiring Tanner Scott and Cole Sulser from the Baltimore Orioles.

The trade sent a player to be named later and a draft pick to the Orioles.

Baltimore is getting left-hander Antonio Velez, outfielder Kevin Guerrero and Miami's 2022 Competitive Balance Round B pick in the deal that was announced by both teams.

The San Diego Padres have acquired left-hander Sean Manaea in a trade with the Oakland Athletics, sources confirmed to ESPN on Sunday.

Manaea, 30, went 11-10 with a 3.91 ERA in 32 starts last season for the A's.
